This allows Art Zoo Museum to offer a diverse range of activities. From workshops in our atelier to exceptional guided tours.

GUIDED TOURS
Our professional educators guide groups through the Art Zoo Museum, revealing the stories behind the artworks: the wondrous discoveries of explorers past and present, unexpected details and creative processes, Darwin and his theory of evolution, and the intricate relationship between humans and animals.
The tour is interactive and age-appropriate, fostering curiosity and wonder. A guided tour is always inclusive entrance fee & a consumption

LECTURES
Art Zoo Museum offers two lectures that take you beyond the ordinary. Where art, nature and history collide in the rooms of a stunning 17th century canal house.
Art Zoo Museum Lecture — Step inside a modern Wunderkammer. Parrots, a mammoth foot, a T-rex. Discover how artists Darwin, Sinke & Van Tongeren fill these historic rooms with wonder, and why Rembrandt would have felt right at home.
Includes: Lecture, museum visit & museum bar consumption to choice.

RELICS Lecture — Fossils as art. Bones as belief. Lecturer Martijn Pieters unravels the mysterious connection between prehistoric remains, baroque grandeur and the Catholic tradition of relics. A lecture that will change the way you see time, beauty and what we leave behind.

WORKSHOPS
From drawing insects to writing poetry about animals, and from botanical painting to learning about animal anatomy. The Vrije Academie regularly organises exceptional workshops. Roll up your sleeves and spend a full day or half day creating — phone away, hands at work.
